Pickleball Instructor (Part-Time)

Location: All Sport Arena – St. Augustine, FL

 

Overview:
All Sport Arena is looking for a dynamic, passionate Pickleball Instructor to join our team. As the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., pickleball is a major offering at our facility, which includes 3 state-of-the-art courts. The ideal candidate is a certified pickleball professional or actively working towards certification. This role will include both private and group lessons, as well as assisting in managing and promoting tournaments, socials, and other pickleball events.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Provide private and group pickleball lessons for all skill levels, ensuring a fun and engaging experience.

  • Program Development: Assist in the creation and execution of clinics, ladders, leagues, and special events designed to grow participation in the sport.

  • Court Inspection & Safety: Inspect courts daily, reporting any damage or required repairs to the General Manager.

  • Member Interaction: Correspond with members and guests regarding lessons, clinics, and facility activities.

  • Promotion: Promote and oversee pickleball socials, tournaments, and events as assigned, in conjunction with the General Manager.

  • Equipment: Work with management to order pickleball merchandise as needed.

  • Rule Enforcement: Ensure participants understand pickleball rules, etiquette, and safety protocols.

  • Additional Duties: Other duties as assigned, including assisting with facility maintenance or promoting other sports activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred.

  • Certification: USPTA/USAPA/Pickleball certification required or actively pursuing certification.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

    • Ability to teach various skill levels and age groups.

    • Familiarity with technology for lesson planning and member management (experience with CourtReserve or similar systems is a plus).

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to stand and instruct for prolonged periods.

    • Ability to lift 30 pounds, squat, bend, and carry out repetitive motions.

  • Work Hours: Flexibility to work during the day, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • CPR/AED Certification: Must obtain certification within 30 days of employment (if not already certified).

Salary:

  • Instruction Rate: $35-$50 per hour for on-court private scheduled lessons.

  • Non-Instruction Rate: $20 per hour for administrative or event support.

  • Hours per week negotiable.
